You've recently been told by your doctor that you require an inpatient or outpatient hospital procedure or surgery as part of your treatment.
Baptist provides a simple preadmission program that can help reduce any anxiety you may be experiencing and make everything as smooth as possible on the day of the procedure.
You will need to provide the scheduler with your name, diagnosis, surgery date, procedure, and physician's name.
Depending on what procedure your doctor has ordered, you may require advance testing such as EKGs, chest x-rays and lab work. When you call 601-968-1400, Baptist professionals will set up an appointment with the staff in Preadmissions to complete all necessary paperwork and tests you may need.
You may wish to call before you leave your doctor's office.
Preadmission appointments are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Please inform the scheduler if your procedure is being performed in the Baptist for Women Center for Surgery.
When you arrive for your preadmission session, you will meet with an Admissions representative who will provide you with a medical history questionnaire to complete. After completing necessary forms, you will then meet with a nurse to review your medical history and complete any necessary tests.
During your preadmission session, we encourage you to ask our staff any questions you might have concerning your upcoming treatment. Knowing what to expect can greatly reduce any anxiety you may be feeling.
When you arrive for your procedure, please park in the parking garage, then report to the Admissions Desk in the main lobby of Baptist Medical Center.
If your procedure is scheduled for the Center for Surgery at Baptist for Women, you may park in the lot directly adjacent to Baptist for Women. Then, report to the Information Desk in the lobby of Baptist for Women.
Knowing that all the paper work has been done and that you'll be admitted quickly and effortlessly will help you to relax as your surgery or procedure date nears. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you will receive the peace of mind that comes from knowing you're always in excellent hands at Baptist Medical Center.
